The kept animal Bill to be dropped

I am very concerned about the announcement that the kept animal Bill will be dropped.

I am completely opposed to live animal exports and want to see all of it banned.  I also agree that it is a very bad situation we are facing where this legislation, like many other bills, is now to be dropped altogether following long delays during the Government’s crisis of leadership.

I want to see Britain lead the world with high animal welfare standards in the wild, in farming and for domestic animals. The Government must properly protect animal welfare, and I will continue to speak out directly in Parliament and beyond to continue to keep up the pressure for reform.

My commitment in support of legislation and amendments to stop the cruel treatment of animals will continue unabated.
