The NHS is one of our country’s proudest achievements

The NHS is one of our country’s proudest achievements. But under the Tories it is under-funded and understaffed. We need to urgently come together to campaign for the future of the NHS.

Please join me tomorrow at our central London rally where we will set out the next stages of our plan to campaign to care for the NHS and social care.

The Conservatives are failing the NHS badly: the number of people left stranded on trolleys waiting for beds to become available on overcrowded hospital wards has risen by more than 600 per cent since October 2010.

The NHS faces the worst deficits on record, totalling £2.45 billion.

And the reality is that cuts to social care mean record high numbers of delayed discharges from already overcrowded hospitals.

Yet Theresa May’s government failed to provide a single penny of extra investment for social care and the NHS in the Autumn Statement last month.

Please join me, Labour’s Shadow Health Secretary Jonathan Ashworth, and special guests at our central London Care for the NHS Rally tomorrow.

Labour created the NHS to care for everyone, now we must redouble our efforts to care for it.
