The National Education Union (NEU) said “School budgets are already overstretched, and teachers are now paying for food and stationery for their pupils. No child should be left behind.”
This is why I support the teachers in their fight for decent pay. I stand in solidarity with all those voting for strike action to reject the cuts, secure a fair deal and save our schools.
The government wants to squeeze the very people who were described as key workers by the Prime Minister during the pandemic. They are indeed key workers who deserve to be treated as such, and they are among many of our unsung heroes.
I fully support the NEU strike action and am in complete solidarity with the teachers.
