Too many people are being pushed to the brink as they find it difficult to get by due to increased rents, stagnating wages, insecure work and in-work benefits cuts.
This is not inevitable. The government has pursued policies which affect low and middle income earners while giving tax give-aways to the very richest.
Labour is proposing a fair taxation system where the super-rich publish their tax returns, a £10-an-hour minimum wage, a cap on energy prices – and investment in our economy to provide the jobs and infrastructure for a fairer Britain.
