About Me

Jeremy Corbyn MP Addressing the Crowd at Glastonbury

I am honoured to have been re-elected to parliament in 2024.  Islington North is my home, and the constituency I have devoted a great deal of my life to, as the elected represented since 1983.

I have consistently campaigned on the things that matter to all of us, be they local or international.  Decent housing is absolutely vital, and continues to be a priority, along with a variety of other important issues including social security benefits, education, immigration, health and much more.

Human Rights issues that concern me and my constituents include anti-racism, anti-imperialism, the environment (transport), LGBT+ rights, opposition to nuclear weapons and military intervention, Trade Union policies and campaigning against miscarriages of justice.

Significant roles I hold in parliament currently include holding that of Chair of 2 All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPG) Chagos Islands;  Parliamentary Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), Vice President of the British Group of the Interparliamentary Union.

Locally I am a trustee, or patron of a number of community organisations and I value these roles enormously, as they are invaluable opportunities to contribute to the ongoing existence of organisations that I see are doing excellent work in the borough.  Aside from these specific roles I am in touch with people across the borough on a daily basis, when in the constituency.
I am also Vice President of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, Acting Deputy President of Stop the War Coalition, and a Patron of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign

I have been honoured with a variety of awards over the years; the most significant of these being the Sean McBride Peace Prize.
