Jeremy Corbyn | The Samaritans’ Dying from Inequality report

The Samaritans’ report, Dying from Inequality, highlights one of the saddest effects of the bankers’ crash and the failed economic policies since.

Too many people are being pushed to the brink as they find it difficult to get by due to increased rents, stagnating wages, insecure work and in-work benefits cuts.

This is not inevitable. The government has pursued policies which affect low and middle income earners while giving tax give-aways to the very richest.

Labour is proposing a fair taxation system where the super-rich publish their tax returns, a £10-an-hour minimum wage, a cap on energy prices – and investment in our economy to provide the jobs and infrastructure for a fairer Britain.
